For a variety of reasons, you may need a new mail address. This can apply to your residential address, or you may need to have a new place to receive email. Luckily, no matter what you reasons, you won’t have a hard time getting what you need. As long as your reasons for doing so are legal, you can usually get what you want quickly, and the benefits of having such a thing can begin right away. Your reasons can be personal or business, or a bit of both.
Everyone has a home address, but it is not always a good idea to use that address for some endeavors. That means you need a new mail address to protect your privacy. This might happen if you have started a business, and you need to mail out your product or even invoices from your home. You may not want your home mailbox to overflow every day, or you may not want to have your personal address out there. That is a pretty common feeling. When this happens, you can get a new mail address that is pretty private, but that will work well for you. Simply go to the Post Office and ask about getting a PO box for your business.
In fact, this type of new mail address works well when you don’t want to use your home address for things you do online. You may buy or sell on eBay, and if you do, you may not wish for your home address to be floating around. If you belong to an online community, and you often exchange Christmas cards, or perhaps other things, you might want to have a new mail address that does not give away your physical location. This is actually a very smart move.
Your email address won’t usually give away your residence, but you may need a new mail address if you are tired of the one that you have, or if you are starting some sort of business endeavor. You may have chosen your address by an old hobby or interest that no longer represents you. You may need something more professional sounding for business, or you may want a new mail address for business emails only. Simple searching for a new company is as easy as searching for email address providers online. Choose one that suits your business needs, and choose a name that conveys professionalism, but is not too hard to remember or type.

My Space Background
My Space Background
If you are familiar with Myspace, have probably seen many different spaces that you like. Some people search for a long time to find the perfect Myspace background, while others just seem to choose the first thing that they come upon. What you choose for your background often says a lot about who you are as a person, and having no background may suggest that you simply don’t use Myspace very much, or that you don’t have the time to mess with it.
There are many different sites that now offer a Myspace background. They usually have hundreds from which to choose. I personally like sites that allow you to make your own Myspace background. This means you can upload your own picture for your background, and then choose what colors and fonts you want to use for the other things on your page. This is the perfect way to get a background that is yours and yours alone. Some people think that having the same Myspace background as someone else is akin to wearing the same dress to a party as someone else.
If you look on any search engine, you will find many sites that offer you a Myspace background. Keep in mind that some people have older computers, and if you have a complicated background with a lot of flashing and moving animations, many people will not be able to view your space. I know that when I am on Myspace, even though I have a newer computer, I don’t have a lot of patience to wait for a Myspace background to load. Many times I will just move on to a different site.
When you are making or selecting your Myspace background, you should remember that besides the flashing and moving animations, a lot is often too much. The simpler your Myspace background is, the easier it is to view, and the better it will be. You don’t want to overwhelm someone when they are looking at your space. Quite a few people I know have backgrounds that hurt my eyes, and I don’t like to go to their space for any reason. There are many ways to make your space your own without overwhelming everyone who comes to visit. This is one case where you can definitely say that less is more. The is something elegant about simplicity when decorating your home, and your space can be a reflection of that.

Movie Theatre
Finding a great movie theatre is almost as important as finding a good local bar or coffee shop. You really need a place to go to see movies – a place that isn't just a large, anonymous all. Movie theatres come in all sorts. On the one hand, you can go to a showcase Cinema or AMC movie theatre – the big, impressive, and ultramodern kind. On the other hand, there is your neighborhood movie house.
A lot of people believe that bigger and newer means better, but this isn't always the case. In the neighborhood I live in, there is an old movie theatre where you can see matinees for $3.75. They serve beer and popcorn, as will as pizza, and the staff is always friendly and courteous. Because they are not one of the big movie showcase theatres, they can screen interesting, independent films from time to time.
The thing I like most about it, however, is that it is a local landmark. The movie theater is something unique to the neighborhood I live in. You can find a showcase cinema in any city, but not every place still has its own independent movie theaters. It can be nice to see something quaint, old-fashioned, and comforting among the hustle and bustle of modern urban life.
Of course, the modern movie multiplex theaters have their own advantages to them. The two most obvious ones are comfort and convenience. these theaters have cushy, comfortable seats, many different screens running at the same time, games to play in the lobby, and a wide assortment of food and beverages. Local movie theatres only have one or two films showing at the same time, but one of the big ones will show half a dozen films at the very least on any given day.
The quality of the experience can also be better. A big movie theatre will probably have better sound systems, better image quality, and better upkeep in general. A lot of the old ones are really beautiful, but kind of worn down. They have seen better days, and tend to not have enough money to really keep things up like they used to. Don't get me wrong – the little guys have a certain charm to them, and I can't deny that it is fun to drink beer and eat pizza while out watching a movie. Even so, it is sometimes nice to be able to go to a clean, spacious film theatre where you can see anything you want.

Movie Reviews
If there's one thing people love it's entertainment. Regardless of where you reside in this world, chances are you enjoy watching movies, at least on occasion. Some folks live for drama, while others relish action flicks. Then there are the movie-goers that get all excited over horror, sci-fi, comedy, romance or family films. It's a good thing there are so many genres to pick and choose from. This makes it easy for movie viewers to find films that tickle their fancy. Now, how much respect do you give modern movie reviews? Do these film recaps and sum-ups truly determine whether or not you venture out to the theater and watch a new release?
When it comes to movie reviews, there are oodles to select from and indulge in online. While one would probably have to resort to the newspaper or a news program back in the day to get the scoop on a new film, these days you can read all about them online. However, there is just one catch when it comes to movie reviews. They're more than likely subjective. This means that they play off of the reviewers likes and dislikes, which could be absolutely different from yours. Obviously this could present some issues in regards to taste and film appreciation. Everyone knows that tastes vary from individual to individual. This means that a film which is rated poorly by one critic just may be raved about by another. Then again, all the movie reviews you encounter on a current film could be negative, but for some reason you watch the movie anyway and love it. Naturally you can see the slight dilemma with movie reviews and the critics who write them.
There are numerous websites to find current and old movie reviews if you choose to do so. One of the most popular websites is known as rottontomatoes.com. This is a fairly respectable movie website that lists all sorts of varying reviews on different films. This way the viewers get to see how a number of different critics rated a particular film. Furthermore, you yourself can put in your two cents concerning a certain movie if you choose to do so. That's the wonderful thing about cyberspace and modern movie reviews.

Monthly Household Budget
Even when both partners in a family work, money can still be tight. It costs a lot to afford all the essentials in life including a place to live, food and car expenses. Add to that a bit of spending money and some unexpected purchases and there can be little to no money left at the end of the month. Setting up a monthly household budget is a great idea regardless if there’s a little or a lot of money to work with.
Salaries are really the foundation of any financial plan. If the person works at a job where they are paid a certain amount week after week it can be a bit easier to plan a monthly household budget. People who are paid on a commission basis may find it a bit more challenging to work out a financial plan, but it certainly can be done and the salary portion should be an average in this case, as opposed to an exact amount.
If you’ve never created one of these before it can be a bit daunting. The easiest approach is to list all the money coming into the home and all the money going out. To do this effectively a person should really document all the expenses they make in a one month time frame. This includes every stop at the convenience store they make, as well as every penny they spend in vending machines.
It can be difficult to itemize every dollar but it’s really important. Doing this helps the person preparing the monthly household budget by showing them where excess money is going. It’s very surprising how quickly trips to the mall or sporting events add up.
Working the old-fashioned way with a pencil, a calculator and a piece of paper can be time consuming and obviously can lead to some mistakes being made. For anyone with a home or office computer, using monthly household budget software is really the best approach. All that is required is that you key in all the relevant numbers and the program will offer suggestions regarding where money can be saved or where it can be redirected.
Debt can be overwhelming and for someone who is juggling balances from one credit card to another it creates a lot of stress. Preparing a monthly household budget in which the focus is on paying down the debt as quickly as possible is really beneficial. A good way to do this is to think about where money can be saved and then using that to pay a credit card. This might include not buying new clothes, waiting to rent a DVD instead of seeing a movie in a theater or giving up going out to eat for a few months. Once a person sees just how much money they are using on non-essentials when they make their budget, it becomes much easier to save.

Mirror Mask
In general, I am not a big fan of pure eye candy. In my opinion, Hollywood has mostly run out of ideas as far as creating newer and better special effects goes. For a while they could dazzle audiences and blow them away, but nowadays we are all jaded enough as viewers to require little bit of plot as well. Nonetheless, every once in a while a movie comes out that has so much flash that an apparent lack of content doesn't seem to cripple it. Mirrormask was just such a movie.
Mirror Mask was the first movie to feature the writing team of Neil Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean. Usually, they are doing comic books or children's picture books together. They are one of the most acclaimed duos in the entire comic book industry. Neil Gaiman usually gets most of the credit. He wrote the stories for the Sandman comics, as well as numerous one shots such as Mr. Punch. Nonetheless, anyone who has actually taken the time to sit down and look through these books has to admit that, without the art in them, the effect would be lost. The writing is good, but it doesn't make it alone. Dave McKean's unique multimedia pieces, combining drawing, painting, and photography in brilliant collages, is what really makes the books shine.
The great thing about Mirror Mask is that it is McKean's turn to shine for once. The writing is okay, but to be honest as a member of the audience you don't even really notice it. When you ask someone to describe Mirror Mask, they will talk about the fantastic giants, the bizarre backgrounds, or some other detail of the way the movie appears. They won't mention the plot. As a matter of fact, the chances are even that they will not even remember it.
If you missed Mirror Mask the first time around, that is too bad. It is one of those movies that simply has to be seen in the theater if you want to get the full effect. Nonetheless, that is no reason that you shouldn't go out and rent or even buy the Mirror Mask DVD. It is a movie that you have to see at least once, and it is pretty addictive. After you see it the first time, you'll want to see it again. As a matter of fact, I watched MirrorMask three times in a row before I even picked up another movie.

Life Insurance Premiums
There are some things that we just do not understand or appreciate until we are older. This is true for many things. When I was in high school and college I took history classes because I was told I had to in order to get my diploma. I had no interest in history. I would study for the tests and pass the class and get the credits and promptly forget everything that had been discussed in the class. I was into the here and now. Now that I have gotten older I find that I love watching television documentaries about history. My husband and I have even discussed taking a history class at the local university to learn more about the history of our state. When I was in school I was too concerned about looking what was ahead of me that I did not care about what had happened before. Now that I have experienced some history in living for a while I am more interested in past events.
I had a similar situation with my parents and a life insurance policy. When I was sixteen my [parents bought a life insurance policy for my. It was a twenty year policy that would pay our dividends after thirty years. I remember my parents explaining to me that they would pay the life insurance premiums until I was out of school and had a full time job. At sixteen I did not think this was any big deal so I just shrugged it off. When I had completed college and started a job my mother gave me all the information about the insurance and told me that it was time that I started paying the life insurance premiums. She stressed that they had paid in for six years already so I should continue to pay them. The life insurance premiums were very reasonable because the policy had been taken out when I was so young. I would pay the life insurance premiums twice a year and forget about them until the next notice came. When I got married I notified the company that I had a change of name and address. When I turned thirty six the company sent me notice that the insurance premiums were paid in full and that I would be able to start collecting dividends on a monthly basis when I was forty six or I could let them accumulate. We were raising our family and working full time I did not take the time to look into the benefit.
Now that I am seriously looking into retirement and looking at my income resources I realize what a special gift my parents had given me. I will be able to draw out a monthly income to supplement my retirement plan. In hind sight I wish I would have done the same for my children.

Karaoke Machines
Karaoke Machines
A revolution in entertainment began in the 1970s when the first karaoke machines came on to the market in Japan. They were expensive but the price came down and the modern version we all know today, the brainchild of a Filipino inventor, took the 1980s by storm. The phenomenon spread throughout the world and it's here to stay.
Not everyone is a fan but most people enjoy a fun night out in a Karaoke Bar. Secret devotees prefer to use karaoke machines from the privacy of their homes! It takes a certain amount of bravado to get up and sing in front of a roomful of people. Great singers have been discovered and the not so great have, at least, built up some self-confidence.
The early Karaoke Bars, sometimes known as KTV Boxes used basic equipment using cassette tapes. These were updated through time with CDs, laserdiscs, VCDs and DVDs. The karaoke machines became more sophisticated and so did the venues. Small, cordoned off areas in clubs gave way to karaoke lounges, devoted to the dedicated fan. Some bars have dance floors and disco lights.
Competitions are popular with venues offering prizes for the best singer. Some of these go through various heats, ending in a final and a lucrative cash prize or even the chance to record in a professional studio.
Technology has provided this form of entertainment with innovations to keep everyone interested. Karaoke machines are designed to make it easy for people and most machines enable the singer to select the key that suits their voice. Many machines have sound effects such as putting echo onto the vocal.
Machines have been adapted to use MIDI computer software and the MIDI system is also used for placing karaoke on to cell phones. VCDs are increasingly popular with some specialist versions available, such as Cantonese Opera, a favorite with Hong Kong customers.
Video karaoke games are popular too, as developed for PlayStation 2. The Microsoft Xbox system, launched in 2004, offers downloaded songs for karaoke machines to store. Enthusiasts can even get a karaoke fix in the car. A Chinese car manufacturer offers a machine as standard in their models. This will surely spread to other suppliers around the world.
These machines have provided fun and the chance to socialize in every kind of society, bringing together the young and old. Technology will bring in new ways of enjoying karaoke but getting together with family and friends, remembering old songs is its greatest gift.

Jobs for Teens
Jobs for teens
My parents encouraged me to get a job at the age of fourteen. I was less than thrilled, but my newfound financial gain was pretty revitalizing. I didn’t think that I’d enjoy working during my summers but it created some lasting memories and a sense of responsibility that I probably would not have gained otherwise. I worked for a local amusement park, which was known as an excellent place for providing jobs for teens. Sure, it didn’t pay a large amount of money but I also would get free tickets to visit the park on my days off so that I could actually enjoy the rides.
With the amount of youth that this country has today, jobs for teens can be easy to find. Speaking from experience, amusement parks are a great place to apply. Restaurants, retail stores and movie theaters are also places that have jobs for teens usually available. There is a website, www.teens4hire.org, that lists jobs for teens and a place that will allow employers to list jobs that teens may be interested in applying for. Not only can you browse job openings on this site, but there are some great articles listed that can be of great assistance to teens who are in the market for jobs. There is factual information on the labor laws and other pertinent information as well.
For employers who have jobs for teens, you can advertise your job listings on this site for a very low price. You just may get some very responsible and qualified teens that will help your business flourish. This website is frequented often and is highly ranked among job sites in the United States. It is all about jobs for teens and there are many success stories that have come from finding jobs via this site.
Some teens are lucky and can find employment within a family business. Perhaps their parents want to show them the ropes at a young age and encourage them to be a frequent contributor. There are great tax deductions for businesses when you hire teens and in some circumstances – teen family members. Of course, check with your tax advisor for those details.
As an employer, be sure that if you want to provide jobs for teens, that you are compliant and familiar with the labor laws. Having teens working for you can be great for your tax deductions and your business in general, but don’t make the mistake of not knowing the labor laws. I’ve seen several businesses in some messy situations because they assumed that they knew the facts and the facts turned out to be incorrect.

Internet Based Business Opportunity
One of the wonderful aspects of today's technology is the Internet. If it weren't for cyberspace, so many home businesses and private companies would not be possible. With mere access to the web, anyone who desires to can start their very own internet based business opportunity. Imagine all of the online privately owned jewelry stores, flower delivery services, knife outlets, clothing boutiques, lawn care services and gift basket businesses. If you also have a marketable idea, you can start a personal business of your own. All it really takes to get started in this new-age field is a PC with high-speed Internet access and an idea.
So many individuals around the world despise their current job positions. This may be due to the fact that many people consider employment a necessity and you're not supposed to enjoy your career. This couldn't be further from the truth. While it's commonly known that we all require an income in order to live healthy lifestyles and pay the bills, there's no reason why anyone should hat the job they choose. And for those who do, consider a personally owned internet based business opportunity of some sort. What do you have to offer the massive world out there? If a product or service immediately pops into your head, then maybe you should toy with the idea a bit and flesh it out. This could be your next big internet based business opportunity. So many individuals are already making tons of cash via the Internet, so why can't you do the same thing?
A major aspect of today's internet based business opportunities is web publishing. You may or may not have actually heard of this before. Either way, it's still a big money making business that can be done solely from the privacy of your own home. Folks from all over are publishing web pages and blogs every day for free in cyberspace. They then proceed to place ads on these web pages and blogs. This way when a web surfer passes through, he/she can click on one of the ads to get a closer look, and in turn make you some money. Consider this popular internet based business opportunity today. It may be right up your alley.

Hulk Toy
hulk toy
Though there was a recent movie about the Incredible Hulk, it was more popular when it was a television series when I was a kid. My brother, in particular, loved the show, and he had his very own Hulk toy. This toy was a stuffed version of the Hulk that had wires within to keep the arms, legs, and head in place. This was no ordinary toy for my brother however, this was his best friend both day and night. For years, he would not go anywhere unless it was with him.
I remember that the Hulk toy came with ripped purple pants, much like the Hulk wore in the television series. These pants were a part of the doll, but they were missing very shortly after he got it for Christmas. That didn’t matter to him though, he still had his Hulk toy and that was all that mattered. He would often take it to bed with him, and he even tried to take it into the bath. He would spend hours on end playing with it, and he would ask me to play as well. I guess this is pretty common behavior for a young boy, but like any good sister, I thought he was just weird.
The Hulk toy he had lasted for a long time, even long after he drilled a hole in the stomach with his finger. I am not sure to this day why he did that, but it did not seem to change the dolls value for him in anyway. Apparently there was a purpose to that hole, but that purpose is still a mystery to me. Perhaps it was an over sized belly button, but I don’t know. I’ve tried asking him in recent years, but he says he can’t remember. I’m not sure I believe him, but I do know he’s never going to tell me.
Even though Hulk is not as popular as he once was back then, there are some children who loved the movie and want to have a Hulk toy of their very own. Though I don’t think there is one out like the one my brother had, there are plenty of great toys out there. They may not be in stores any longer, but that does not mean they can not be found online. If you look through sites like eBay, you may find more toys than you could have imagined. Go ahead and get some.

Grim Reaper Costume
Do you have one child that challenges you more than your other children? I do. I have three children, two sons and a daughter. My daughter is the middle child and has always been very creative. This is a good thing and will most likely be an asset for her as an adult; however as a child it means that she demands more attention and time. Not only does she make unique requests, but she also wants to be involved in fulfilling them.
When she was ten years old we went to see a production of the Christmas Carol at one of the metropolitan theaters. The production was excellent; it was a great family outing. After we saw the production she wanted to have a copy of the book. We bought this for her as a stocking stuffer for Christmas that year. In the copy of the book the illustration of the ghost from things yet to come was drawn in the classic grim reaper costume. She decided as soon as she saw the illustration that this is what she wanted to be for Halloween the next year. I did not look for a grim reaper costume because my thought was that she would change her mind several times in the ten months before Halloween came around. The month before Halloween she was still insistent that she wanted a grim reaper costume. My thought was to use black material that we could drape and pin around her, however she wanted the hood and she wanted a way to wear it so she could see, but no one could see her face.
There were grim reaper costumes available for adults so I bought her one and we shortened it so that she could walk without having to hold it up. There was a large hood on the costume, but you could still see her face. I looked for black sheer fabric that we could sew into the hood, but all the pieces I found were either so sheer that you could still see her face or they were too opaque to see through. I bought the sheer fabric as well as black face paint. I sewed the fabric into the hood several inches back from the edge and then we painted her face black. This worked great because when you looked at her you had no idea of who it was. We also painted her hands white so they had a ghostly appearance. She was going to a party at a neighbor’s house. I sewed Velcro around the sheer material so that she would be able to pull it away from her face in order to eat and drink. Throughout all of the construction of the costume she was in the room with me making sure that it was exactly how she wanted it. She wants to learn to sew so that she will be able to make her own costumes in the future. I am sure they will turn out great because she is a perfectionist.

Flowers of the Months
Flowers Of The Months
Each birthday month has a governing zodiac sign and symbolic gemstone. Flowers of the months also denote birthdays and have historical and cultural meanings. Choosing such flowers as gifts show a great deal of thought has gone into the gesture. It's also a guide as to what is in season.
The year begins with two January flowers. Carnations represent love, affection and admiration. Green varieties are given on St. Patrick's Day. The other flower for the first month is the snowdrop, a hopeful sight for the spring to come. February brings the iris, standing for friendship, faith and hope and also the violet. One of the delights of March is the daffodil that pops through and brightens the gray after winter. They symbolize respect, faithfulness and modesty. Flowers of the months for April are the humble daisy, denoting good luck and pleasure, and the wonderfully scented sweet pea.
Warmer weather in May brings the lily, for purity, sweetness and meekness. Love and beauty are naturally represented by the rose in June. Different shades symbolize different qualities. The Larkspur is the flower for July, standing for laughter and relaxation. This bloom was used to keep witches at bay in Transylvania. August is the month for gladiolus and poppy. Gladiators adopted the gladiolus, representing strong character and the poppy is associated with remembering the war dead.
The fall and September brings the aster flower for love, faith and wisdom and the morning glory, which represents vibrancy and awareness. The aster is also a traditional flower of mourning for soldiers. October flowers of the months are the marigold, symbolizing affection and the cosmos, which stands for peace and modesty. There are chocolate cosmos flowers that really do have a chocolate scent. The chrysanthemum is the flower for November, meaning optimism, cheerfulness and wealth. Some people drink Chrysanthemum Tea in Asia.
Finally, December brings the poinsettia and narcissus. The poinsettia stands for celebration, success and good cheer. It is aptly known as the Christmas Star and is a popular decoration in homes at the festive season. Narcissus represents self-admiration, sweetness and egotism. The Greek myth is well known and tells of Narcissus who falls in love with his reflection in the stream. He stays there and turns into a flower. The flowers of the months don't have to be strictly adhered to. They are fun to learn about and may shed light on some of the birth month traditions.

family tree
The older I get the more I wonder about who my ancestors were and where I came from. In a relatively culture free America, I wondered if there are traditions Albert that I identify with the deep down. Like many Americans my ancestors came from all over the globe. For all intents and purposes I am a European mutt. Even my last name is comprised of two different languages. In all this movement and mixing I have to wonder who I really am.
Thankfully I have more than one relative who is fascinated by genealogy. Several of my aunts have been studying records and building our family tree for several decades. Thanks to all of their work I can look back over many generations to see where my family came from and how they came to be in America. If you go back far enough you can even find a United States President in my family tree. No bragging intended, of course.
If you want to know more about your ancestors, building a family tree is a great way to get those answers. There are many public records available that can help you begin to build your family tree. Birth, death, and marriage records are a great place to start. You may even think about trying one of the many web sites out there that can help you build a family tree. Genealogy.com is one of the most popular sites for this purpose. You may be surprised that somebody else is already out there building the tree for you.
Other popular web sites include familytreemaker.com and ancestry.com. These web sites are used by millions of people trying to build their own family tree. They also contain an endless amount of records that you can pour through to see if your ancestors are included. You may even find a detailed family tree out there with your name on it.
Knowing who you are and where you came from can be an amazing gift. Many people do not know who their ancestors are and are unable to put together a complete ancestral history for themselves. Knowing how your family came to be in this country and where their ancestors lived before can open up a whole new world for you. We live in an amazing age of technology in which so much information is readily available for our use. Hopefully we can all use it to gain a better sense of who we really are and why.

face painting
Kids are notoriously flighty, and there are always new trends coming and going. Nonetheless, there are some things that tap into childhood so effectively that they really stay there year after year. Face painting is definitely one of them. When people ask what I do for a living and I tell them that I paint faces, most of them are pretty surprised. Some of them are outright rude about it. They refuse to believe that you can make a living off face paints, but it is true.
I consider it an art more than a job. Painting faces is a fairly intricate skill. People ask for all kinds of different designs on their faces. Of course you get the requests for butterflies, flowers, bunnies, and things like that more often than anything else, but sometimes people want something more specific. You have to be able to do it all.
I first got involved in face painting when I was just a kid. I always got Halloween face paint kits. As a matter of fact, I wasn't really interested in the costumes. My parents were always frustrated because they would get me an elaborate costume and all I would do is play with face makeup all night! Nevertheless, soon they saw that I really had a talent. I kept with it all through school. I even used my face painting in high school. Some of my friends were amateur movie makers, and I would do face painting for them. I could do it all – monster movie stuff, glamorous makeup, and of course the classic facepainting stuff that I do now.
When people see a face painting booth at the county fair, they don't really think about it, but some people make their living off this. I am one of those folks. I make money at fairs, kids birthday parties, Halloween parties, and carnivals of all sorts. Sometimes people even hire me for custom face paint jobs for their own parties. I don't make a lot of money doing it, but I do make enough. It is worth it because I get to do what I love. Few people really get to follow their passions in this life, so even though I have to get by on a shoestring budget from time to time, I consider it worth it. After all, it makes me happy. Isn't that what life is all about?

Event Management Companies
Have you ever been given a reputation that you wanted to change but did not know how to? It is very hard to change reputations. I had become known as the planner and organizer for the agency that I worked for. The main reason that I fell into this role is that I do like to plan ahead and I do like to shop for presents. It started by me looking at a calendar and noticing that bosses day was coming up that month. I started talking to co-workers in my unit about getting something for our supervisor. I collected the money went and bought the gift passed the card around for everyone to sign and wrapped the gift. That was the beginning of me being in charge of all gift giving and luncheon planning and arranging for happy hours. I enjoyed doing the things, but I had my regular job to do, I felt taken advantages of and there were times when people did not pay me what they owed.
I thought my efforts were unappreciated and unnoticed until my employee evaluation one year. My supervisor commended me for the efforts and made the comment that his brother could use someone like me. His brother owned won of the major event management companies in the metropolitan area. We talked about this in passing, yet the seed was planted. A few days later I asked my supervisor if he could let me know if his brother or any of the other events management companies were looking for help. He gave me his brother’s name and number and told me to call him. I made the call and this was the first step towards finding a job that I have come to love.
I am involved in planning. Event management companies are responsible for making all the arrangements for major happenings in a city. Our company specializes in family events. This means we make arrangements for circuses, concerts, races, rodeos and non-professional sporting events. Other event management companies specialize in entertainment that is more adult in nature and also large community events. Most of my work involves telephone, computer and faxing. After I had been with the company for nine months I was set up in my home. The company supplies me with three phone lines, a fax machine a computer and a multi-line telephone system. This is great. I am now using my organizational skills to earn my living instead of being the office party planner and gift buyer. Once I switched jobs I made sure not to be the first person to volunteer to do the party and gift planning for co-workers. Now that I am able to work out of my home this is not an issue.
Employee Privacy
Employee right to privacy is a pretty new concept in business, but one that is catching on fast. Whether you are a manager or a worker, it definitely makes sense to put some thought into employee privacy rights. There are many different approaches in different businesses, and the courts haven't really decided what they think yet. In short, we are in the middle of a social debate about employee privacy. Which way will the debate go? That is up to all of us to decide together.
In my own business, I am a big fan of employee privacy. I feel like as long as my employees get the job done, that is all that matters. I don't care if they send out personal e-mails, check the Web, use drugs in their spare time, or party all night long on weekends.
You see, giving my employees privacy is a matter of respect for me. I feel that the office environment should be based, as much as possible, on mutual respect. If I acknowledge my employees have a right to self-determination, pay them well, and give them good benefits, they will in turn enjoy working for me. Loyal employees are productive employees, and employees that stay with the company for a long time. Therefore, it is to all of our advantages when employee privacy and other employee rights are respected.
I know other people in business, however, who have much different views on employee privacy. A lot of the time, the argument is made that an employees privacy stops at the door. Everything you do while you are on the job should be related to the job. Some people go even further, using random drug testing as a way to screen out undesirable employees. There are many different argument for this. Some people argue that it decreases health care costs, other people say that drug users are not responsible or dependable employees. Some people even are required to do it by law, for insurance purposes.
For me, it all seems to come down to management styles. I am very laid back. I like to see responsible, hard-working employees. As such, I give them freedom and expect them to do their work in a timely and efficient manner. Other people, however, see things much differently. If you work in a large company, you might see your employees more as cogs in a machine. If you primarily demand strict obedience to office codes rather than self-motivation and independence, workplace privacy probably is not that important to your business model.

Drawing Software
drawing software
I am often amazed at some of the things that people manage to draw on a computer. When doing architectural drawings, it is pretty easy to see how it is done, though using that type of drawing software is often something that takes a lot of training. However, when it comes to art drawing, there are some options out there that work very well, and it’s often astounding how well some of these creations come out when using nothing but a computer screen and a mouse.
My dad often uses drawing software to make some really neat things. He is an artist anyway, so I’m not that surprised. It did take him a while to get used to the difference between using a pencil or a paint brush as apposed to using a computer mouse to draw, but he got it after a while. He uses rather simple drawing software, but he only uses it once in a while, so that is enough for him. He often makes cute little pictures to frame and give to us as gifts, or he messes around with a rough draft of something that he wishes to commit to paint and canvas later on.
My daughter uses the drawing software on her computer as well. She has our very old computer in her room for educational games, but she loves to draw with it too. The drawing software she uses is Paint. This is been around for a long time, and hasn’t really changed much. As far as software goes, it is rather simple, but she can use it to create whatever it is that she finds in her imagination. In fact, being simple is an asset in this case, as she could not learn to use anything more complicated at her age. It works for her, and for my dad as well.
There is more complicated drawing software out there. These are used for projects that might have a commercial value. There are also some that generate really great looking logos and other things that one might need for their creations. That, along with the drawing software, can give anyone the tools they need to make a rather professional looking presentation of any sort right from the comfort of their own home. That certainly makes taking work home much easier for graphic designers, and also allows people who volunteer for projects the chance to spend that time at home as well.

Drama Scripts
Ever since I was a kid, drama scripts have been my favorite form of writing. A lot of people watch plays, but less people read them. For me, however, it is almost more fun to read a drama script than to watch it performed. Once you have seen this many plays as I have, you can make the characters do exactly what you want in your head. You can make them have the perfect appearance, deliver their lines with just the right phrasing, and even slightly edit the drama scripts in order to make them fit your own tastes.
I was practically raised on drama plays. I actually went to a charter school as a kid, and that is where I was first exposed to drama. It was known as a drama school, as a matter of fact. The theater program was very strong, as were all of the other arts programs. In that school, we would use drama scripts for basically everything. From kindergarten through middle school, plays were the main way we learned things. Whether we were doing history, civics, English, or even math, we would find ways to use dramatic readings to help us learn and understand the material. It is pretty amazing how well it works.
I even used drama scripts in Sunday school. A lot of people are surprised when they hear this, but the Sunday school I went to was actually very creative place. They did not want us just to believe what we were taught by rote. They wanted us to really think about it and come to our own judgments. That is why we used dramatic readings. Sometimes, we would read from plays written by other people, but just as often we would write our own. We would enact the Bible for each other and then discuss our interpretations of it. It was a lot of fun, and I learned a lot about my religion.
Now that I have kids of my own, I use drama scripts in a much different way. A lot of the time, we will set up little plays with their dolls. By having them talk together, my children can articulate their feelings. They are too young to be really in touch with everything they feel, so by using acting and role-play, they can express themselves better and learn to communicate instead of acting out. It works well, and it is one of their favorite things to do.

Domestic Violence
Although many people fail to see the warning signs, the issue of domestic violence is a major one in our country and all across the world. Countless women are battered and killed by their husbands and boyfriends on a daily basis. And I do mean literally ever day! Now, you may stop to ask yourself how this could be. It's simply really; no one is helping these women in their desperate time of need. While it sounds utterly awful when you say it out loud, it's true nonetheless. The same goes for numerous children. The key to assist in preventing and dealing with domestic violence is often keeping an eye out for the warning signs. Stop for a moment and think about the women and children you know. Is it possible they are being abused in any way?
When it comes to issues such as domestic violence, child abuse and spousal abuse, far too many individuals purposely choose to turn the other cheek. This actually assists the abusers and feeds the problem, hence making the situation worse. If there's one thing everyone should know in regards to domestic violence, it's that most abusers will redundantly tell the women and/or children being abused that they deserve it. The victims are taught not to tell. This is why so many kids and women alike suffer with domestic violence issues, but never have the courage to seek out help. But, as a friend or acquaintance it is your job also to sense such things and see what's right in front of your face. The reality is that most abuse it tough to hide, and if you know someone who is being abused, then you should get them help whether they request you to or not. This goes double for children, who have very little power to protect themselves in the first place. It's your duty as a human being to speak out and get them the help they deserve.
Naturally domestic violence and any sort of home abuse is tough to swallow. There are some things people can do to get a better grasp on domestic violence and how to deal with certain violent situations. A great place to begin is with Gavin De Becker's book entitled "Protecting the Gift." This will fill you in on how violent people function and think, and what the best ways to deal with domestic violence are. Get involved with violence prevention today.

Does the Atkins Diet Work?
The people in America are becoming more obsessed with weight and dieting. We are also getting heavier than any other time in the nations history. There are diets, surgeries and supplements that are geared towards helping people lose weight, but most of them fail to get people to address the true issue of looking at how they need to change their lifestyle to keep the weight off.
My husband and I decided that we needed to address our weight. We were both carrying more weight than we needed to be. Friends of ours were on the low carbohydrates diet, and had lost weight quickly, but our question was does the atkins diet work in keeping the weight off. We decided that we would research this and other diets to see what we would be able to fit into our lives the easiest. We knew that the plan had to be easy to follow and flexible in order for us to stay on it. We knew that most diets would give you results if followed faithfully, yet we were concerned about what happens in the long term.
My husband had me look into low carb dieting to know does the atkins diet work and he was going to look into lower fat dieting. In a way asking the question does Atkins diet work seemed silly considering that the number of people that were following some form of it was growing on a national level. Restaurants and fast food chains were changing their menus to accommodate the number of people that were looking for foods that were lower in carbohydrates. Due to the number of people that are following the Atkins diet it was easy to find information on it.
After doing research on does the atkins diet work I found that the entire process is dedicated to changing your eating habits for a life time. The strict low carbohydrate intake is used to drop weight, but then a full regiment for adding some healthy carbs back into the diet is outlined in the books and other materials that are available. The goal is to add enough carbohydrates back into your daily routine to satisfy your hunger and cravings, without over doing to the point of gaining weight back. The consistent report that successful dieters gave was that they did not feel hungry while cutting back on the carbohydrates. Most people reported having increased energy as well. We have decided that we will try reducing the carbohydrates in our diet and also cut the amount of fat we take in. We are creating a hybrid system that we hope will give us results as well as change our eating habits for the rest of our lives.

Disney Movies
I couldn’t imagine my childhood without Disney Movies. Some of my fondest memories are directly linked to the Walt Disney classics like Lady and the Tramp, Cinderella and Snow White. Now that this children’s entertainment company has grown, there are more Disney movies available than ever before.
Each tale is unique and you are certain to find a favorite or two among the many films that have been created over the years. Disney movies offer something for everyone no matter what your age. I love watching the older films but the newer productions are nothing short of astonishing.
I am continually amazed by the incredible artistic feats that the Disney movies display. Considering that I remember Snow White when it was in the theaters, I can attest that I have had my fair share of films to compare. While I will always love the genuine beauty of the classic cartoon drawings, there is something truly astonishing about the computer generated images found in today’s Walt Disney productions.
No matter what, I find that children adore Disney movies no matter what kind of approach the animators use. The stories are so compelling and original (not to mention entertaining) that children of all ages will enjoy each and every one of the films. This includes the older ones that retain such charm.
Now that I’m a parent, I make sure that my little ones have all of the same wonderful experiences with Disney movies as I did. Creating your own collection of Walt Disney films may take a little time and effort but it is worth everything that you put into it. I love that I have many of the classics available any time at all.
This is especially good news for the kids. They have a chance to see classic Walt Disney movies like Bambi in the comfort of our home. These films are not seen on television and they are not re-released in theaters. However, they are readily available whenever the kids would like to enjoy them.
While I do love the amazing new Disney movies, I still get a thrill when my kids want to watch one of the older classics. It’s nice to know that my little ones have a chance to enjoy the very same films that I enjoyed as a child. I almost feel as if I’m a kid again when I watch with them. It is a wonderful experience for everyone involved.

Diecast Toy Cars
Are you like millions of other people and have some type of collection? Collecting is something that many people do; however have you ever thought about how a collection gets started. I have a collection of cat figurines. They range from quite small to over a foot tall. Some of the statues are made of expensive hand blown glass from Italy and others are made of rubber. Some are one of a kind hand carved and others were mass produced. Because each one has a story of some kind behind it they are all priceless to me. I have always been a cat lover. I grew up with having cats in the house. Out family cat picked my room to sleep in and I took care of the majority of its needs. My aunt gave me my first cat statue when I was a child. Through the years I started receiving more of them as gifts. Because I was accumulating the statues I started picking some up when I went traveling. I now have a curio cabinet that is full of cat statues. I never consciously thought about collecting them it just evolved as a result of that first gift from my aunt.
I do not think I am unique in how my collection began. My husband has a similar story for how his collection began, it is just that he was much older than I was and his started as a joke. He collects diecast toy cars. He received his first one when he graduated from high school. Two of his friends were getting cars as graduation presents. He mentioned this to his parents a least once a day for several months prior to graduation. On graduation day he also received a car; however his was a die-cast toy car. When he saw the small car he was amazed at the details in it. When he was older he wanted a certain make and model of a car, again he received one of the diecast toy cars instead. This peaked his interest and he began looking at the different makes and models that were available. Soon he began to pick up a few of the die cast toy cars when he would see makes and models that interested him. Once we were married and I learned of his collection I began buying him the die cast cars models that you put together and paint yourself. This has continued to be a hobby that he enjoys doing during the winter months.
I am glad that both of our collections can be contained in a relatively small area. My cat statues are located in the curio in the dining room and the toy die-cast cars are displayed in a cabinet in the den. We still add to our collections if we see an interesting piece when we are traveling, but the majority of our collections were given to us.

Dating Internet Service
So I was watching this reality show the other day, and I saw this couple, who stated they met online. Now they are married with three children, and appear perfectly happy. This is bizarre, yet funny and awesome at the same time. How cool is it that our future mates could be waiting for us in cyberspace. In a way, it better enables us to connect with them. You can certainly chat with more people on the web, than you will ever even encounter in a single's bar. Plus, the diversity is so much greater. When I think about this new-age concept, I often come to the conclusion of "what more could anyone ask for?" Have you tried out a dating Internet service yet? Your special connection could be waiting.
I met my wife pre the Internet dating scene. Well, kid of pre anyway. It was in the 90s. I guess the dating Internet service websites were around; they were just not as prominent as now. These days you hear about them constantly. Flip on your television and you're bound to see an ad for one. Whether it's Eharmony.com or Matchmaker.com, they all have a spiel about perfect happiness. Apparently they've never seen the flick "Hard Candy." That guy definitely didn't find complete bliss with a nice woman of his dreams. Then again, he wasn't really a nice fellow anyway. Coco Chanel
A remarkable woman named Gabrielle Chanel was born in France in 1883. She would become famous with her nickname, an icon of the fashion world and one of the most influential women of the 20th century. Coco Chanel revolutionized haute couture and is still revered today. Her beginnings were humble and she was taught to sew by nuns at the orphanage where she was placed.
The budding designer's first foray into fashion came when she started to design hats. This led to the opening of her millinery shop in 1910. The career advancement of Coco Chanel was rapid and she opened her first couture house five years later. Women have a lot to thank her for. Not only did she provide an early example of a woman being successful in business, she also was responsible for getting rid of the corset! She sealed a reputation for designing clothes that were simply elegant and stylish but also comfortable.
Early successes in her range swept through high society, eventually filtering down to the woman in the street. Celebrities and aristocracy flocked to buy her creations, including the famous Coco Chanel suit. She also made the little black dress, as it came to be known, an indispensable item in every woman's wardrobe. Remarkably, she held the position of Chief Designer for the label until her death in 1971.
The range is not limited to clothes and Coco Chanel expanded into other lucrative enterprises from an early stage. The world famous Chanel no.5 perfume was launched in 1921 and costume jewelry followed three years later. Men would have to wait for their first eau de toilette until 1981 when Antaeus came on the market. Today, the product range includes clothes, accessories, watches, sunglasses and jewelry. The fashion line includes ready to wear. The company is still a big player on the world stage and is successfully led by German designer, Karl Lagerfeld.
The icon has been portrayed on the Broadway stage and on screen. Katherine Hepburn played her in the 1970 musical production of Coco with words and music by Andre Previn and Alan Jay Lerner. A film called Coco Before Chanel is scheduled for release in 2008 and stars French actress Audrey Tatou. It tells the intriguing story of her life before she achieved fame. Coco Chanel, despite an all consuming career also managed to have a very complicated love life. Her enduring legacy however, is the classic designs she brought to women's fashion.

Betty Boop Purses
Betty Boop purses are the perfect token for any lady who loves this classic character. This cartoon icon has been around for nearly a century and she has brought smiles to the faces of children and adults all along. There are plenty of collectables that feature this flirty character but few are as fitting as Betty Boop purses.
The reason that a handbag makes for the ideal collector’s item for this particular genre is quite apparent to some of us. Nothing represents a woman on the go quite like a carry all. Many of us can’t live without them. Why not add some personality to this must-have by choosing Betty Boop purses that are wonderful for collecting but even better for using.
Following are three great examples of Betty Boop purses. Of course, you want to consider what you are really looking for as you browse. These handbags come in an array of shapes and sizes as well as colors and designs. There is most certainly at least one Betty Boop purse that is right for your needs.
Coin purses make for unusual but wonderful choices. These tiny Betty Boop purses are ideal for the professional woman who wants to add some humor to her wardrobe without tipping off her associates. Any regular handbag can contain a whimsical Betty Boop coin purse and no one will be the wiser.
The coin purse is great for organization and quick access to change and it makes a great present for a young girl. It also makes a great gift for a woman who is young at heart. Many of these items are offered in the classic black-white-red contrasting colors which make them ideal choices for any number of people.
On the other spectrum is the tote bag. This bigger version of the carry all really can carry all that you need. Since I am an avid fan of the classic cartoon character, I had a very difficult time choosing just one handbag. So I wound up buying three Betty Boop purses. I had to. They’re so inexpensive that I just couldn’t pass them up.
My first pick is a black and white film purse. You got it. The actual design of this handbag looks like strips of old film. I love this carry all and it is the single most important item in my accessories. My second pick is quite different. This is a flirty little number in a great girly pink shade.
Finally, I did have to purchase something more subtle. The last of the Betty Boop purses that I actually use is quite understated. This is a black purse of outstanding quality and if you really look closely, you’ll see Betty looking ever-so-adorable in a little emblem.

Beeswax Candles
I love to buy candles, but there are many that end up being very disappointing. You have probably had the same experience, and quite often the problem is what the candles are made from. If you get ones that are made from paraffin wax, you aren’t getting a very good candle. They may be adequate, and you may like them, but if you buy really cheap ones, you are going to be unhappy with what you have. That’s why there are a lot of people that love to buy beeswax candles to have in their home.
Some of the paraffin wax candles are very greasy. You have probably seen this if you have gotten a really cheap one and it has set around for a while. The more expensive ones are better, but you won’t like them much after you try beeswax candles. When you get one, look for one that is a one hundred percent beeswax candles. They are some of the cleanest burning candles you can buy, and if they have a wick that does not put off a lot of soot, you are getting one that will not give off a lot of fumes.
Some buy beeswax candles that are nothing more than paraffin candles stamped to look like a honeycomb. These aren’t really beeswax candles. You have to look at the label and see what you are getting. Some candle makers will take real beeswax and melt it down to pour their candles and others will just roll the sheets up and include a wick. If they do it right, you are going to have one great candle for your home. Once you burn one, you may never go back.
They say that soy is just as good as beeswax candles, but I couldn’t say for sure. I have never bought soy, though I may try them out one day. It is more expensive to make both soy and beeswax candles, and that means they are going to cost more when you buy them. Most will tell you that they are well worth the price. They come in many colors and many scents. You will have a longer, cleaner burning candle, and you will be very happy with them for a long time to come. These make great gifts too, and if you are thinking of making your own candles, you may want to go with these first. You may find that you never bother with paraffin at all.

Authentic Gucci Handbags
Nothing rings a more pleasant note in my ear than the words: authentic Gucci handbags. There are few items on this planet that can send a lady into orbit than one of these objects of desire. The designer purses are truly icons of wealth, style and sophistication and for many of us; the authentic Gucci handbags are simply a good investment.
I have owned more than my share of designer knock-off purses and I have to say that I have spent a lot of money on these items. Sure, they are wonderful accessories and they are mostly well-made. However, once I got my hands on an authentic Gucci handbag I really understood the difference.
The quality of the knock-off designer purses is quite outstanding. I have had no problem with my replica Gucci hand bags and I know that they are as durable as they are attractive. But there is no comparison to the real thing in my experience. There are a handful of reasons that I favor the authentic Gucci handbags over the replicas.
Anyone who is a real supporter of artistic style and design appreciates the importance of originality. I see the authentic Gucci handbags as real pieces of art. While it’s nice to have a Van Gogh print in my home, it is far better to have an original piece created by this artist. I guess that’s the understatement of the year.
When it comes to purses, the authentic Gucci handbags are collector’s items that retain some value. The replica purses are great for the occasional wearer, the young lady who has an appreciation for style and the money-conscious adult. However, an avid fan of fashion will not settle for anything other than the authentic Gucci handbags.
I also prefer the original designer purses for their overall quality. It is difficult to explain the difference between the replicas and the authentic Gucci handbags. One thing is certain. Even a novice can spot the real thing. I have carried around several replica purses and the reaction is usually the same.
Most people will say something like, “Lovely purse. Is that a Gucci replica?” when I’m carrying a knock-off. But when I tote one of the authentic Gucci handbags there is no question. Most admirers just mention how fantastic the item is then eat the icon of fashion with envious eyes.
Resale value is another great thing to consider when buying authentic Gucci handbags. You can sell your purse for a nice chunk of change. Who knows, you may even find a great discount on the originals online.

Authentic Designer Handbags
When you are in the market for authentic designer handbags you really want to make sure that you are making a sound investment. Of course, you can’t go wrong by choosing an original over a knock off designer purse. You can find pretty nice replicas but all in all the authentic designer handbags offer more value for the money.
Replica designer purses can set you back quite a few bucks. Why not invest a little more in the real deal? The quality of the authentic designer handbags is beyond compare and you will have a better item in the long run. This fashion accessory is an investment that can retain quite a bit of its original value.
Purses are unique in that they do retain more value than clothing overall. If you try to sell a used high end fashion dress, you are most likely to get much less than you had hoped. Who wants to spend a lot on a garment that has been worn? However, authentic designer handbags have a different set of rules.
The simple fact that you carry purses instead of wearing them is the key to the items retaining more resale value. The product isn’t worn on the body and you can take better care of the item. As long as you take very, very good care of your authentic designer handbags, you can expect a pretty decent resale value. This can make for a great game for your fashion accessory needs.
Instead of buying a handful of replica purses that will probably wind up at your local donation center in time, you may want to invest in authentic designer handbags that can be resold for a pretty penny. The resale money can be used to put towards your next high fashion purse.
The resale money from one of the authentic designer handbags pays for a portion of your next purchase, and so on. This is a much more cost-effective approach than buying knock-off purses. For the same price of a good quality replica Gucci handbag, you could own the real thing if you play the resale game smart.
We all want to look our best. The perfect place to start is with a sound investment in high quality authentic designer handbags. Once you are ready to move on to the next trend, you can be sure that you have something of worth to sell to cut down on the costs of buying the originals.
